Winner: Best Skincare Supplement Altrient Liposomal Vitamin C Marie Claire Skin Awards 2020
Discover the world’s first TRUE liposomal vitamin C supplement that is revolutionising skincare.
Once again, we’re celebrating as Altrient C has scooped up another beauty award. This week Altrient C was announced as the WINNER of the Best Skincare Supplement in the Marie Claire Skin Awards 2020 as voted for by industry experts. A great affirmation for our message that vitamin C, when delivered into the body in the right way – the Altrient way – can help your skin tremendously.
Taking good care of your skin means taking care of your collagen. We are held together by collagen, our skin is made up of 75% collagen, therefore the smooth, supple appearance of healthy skin all over the body is due in large part to the presence of healthy collagen levels. We all know that vitamin C is a defence nutrient good for supporting our immune system and optimising energy levels, but it is also an essential cofactor in collagen synthesis and UV protection.
Without sufficient levels of vitamin C in our body, collagen formation is likely to be disrupted and free radicals left to run riot which can cause oxidative stress potentially damaging our skin and other tissues. The challenge, up until now, has been how to absorb enough vitamin C into our cells to make a real difference to our skin, as so many regular vitamin C supplements aren’t absorbed efficiently and end up being broken down in the digestive system and passed out as waste. They are also often packed with undesirable sugars, sweeteners, bulking agents, artificial flavours and tend to cause gastric upset when taken in higher doses. Topical vitamin C applications may have limited ability to reach the deeper layers of skin in sufficient quantities to have a significant effect.
Altrient C is non-GMO, vegan and formulated with no sugars, sweeteners, glycerine, sucrose, artificial colours or flavours. It is non-acidic and gentle on the stomach and can be taken in high doses without causing any gastric distress. The sachets are convenient and easy to use and carry on the go. Simply empty a sachet of gel into a small amount of water and swallow it down in one gulp.
Jonathan Orchard, Health Practitioner and Director of Abundance & Health:
“When I first discovered Altrient C in America in 2010 I was so impressed by its formulation and efficacy that I was determined to help make this brilliant product available in the UK and throughout Europe. The health benefits that myself, my friends, family and clients were experiencing by taking it were exceptional.
As the weeks and months went by everyone that was taking it regularly started to report the noticeable improvement it was having on their skin. We then decided to conduct a double-blind placebo-controlled study on Altrient C’s effect on skin and the results were outstanding.
To win this prestigious skincare award on Altrient’s 10th anniversary is a testament to how good this product really is for skin and our decade of hard work sharing this amazing product with so many.”
The Altrient C Clinical Skin Trial Results
An independent, double-blind, placebo-controlled study carried out by Princeton Consumer Research Centre in 2014, revealed a staggering 61.47% increase in skin elasticity and a 13.5% reduction in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles after taking 3 sachets of Altrient C a day for 16 weeks.
Those taking 1 sachet of Altrient C a day revealed a 34.99% increase in elasticity and a 7.52% reduction in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Those taking the placebo showed no improvement at all.
How Altrient Solved The Problem of Vitamin C Absorption
In 2004 LivOn Labs, creators of Altrient liposomal vitamin C, discovered a way to improve vitamin C absorption significantly. They pioneered the use of Liposomal Encapsulation Technology to protect vitamin C from being destroyed in our digestive system when taken orally, this was not an easy task, and took a team of highly skilled biochemist 2 years to develop. By successfully encapsulating vitamin C in nanoparticles called liposomes they were able to achieve absorption levels never before thought possible. They patented the process, developed the world’s first liposomal vitamin C and changed the way we absorb vitamin C forever.
Multiple independent clinical tests have been conducted on Altrient C to look at the rate of liposome encapsulation, rate of absorption, effects on skin and the results are always impressive. Looking for the gold standard LivOn Labs logo provides piece of mind for genuine liposomal authenticity.
Dr. Thomas E. Levy, cardiologist, vitamin C expert and author of Primal Panacea describes Altrient C as having an intravenous impact in oral form. He says:
“Comparing the absorption and utilisation rates of other forms of oral vitamin C supplements with Altrient’s oral liposomal delivery, is like comparing a squirt gun to a fire hose. I am convinced that the efficacy of Altrient vitamin C far surpasses any traditional oral vitamin C supplement”.
Altrient C’s Patented Liposomal Process
During Altrient’s patented encapsulation process, vitamin C is wrapped up in tiny phospholipid spheres to create liposomal vitamin C in a gel. The structure of a liposome membrane is very similar to the membrane of a human body cell. The double protective layer, shields nutrients from stomach acid, securing a safe path to the small intestine where vitamin C can be absorbed into the blood stream.
Thanks to their precise composition, Altrient’s liposomes are able to overcome cellular absorption barriers to deliver vitamin C directly into the cells, where it is needed most. Altrient supplements contain high quality essential phospholipids and phosphatidylcholine (PC) which our body needs to constantly replenish in order to keep our cell membranes in perfect condition.
Put the C in Collagen
Collagen synthesis occurs continuously throughout our lives to repair and replace damaged collagen tissue, sadly as we age, collagen synthesis begins to slow down, this depletion affects the structure of our skin’s tissue resulting in a gradual loss of firmness and elasticity leading to visible signs of ageing. External factors such as poor diet, smoking and overexposure to UVA and UVB rays and pollution may all speed up this decline and generate excess free radicals that also contribute to skin damage.
The best way to maintain a healthy, youthful-looking appearance is to protect the healthy collagen you currently have and to prevent future collagen degradation.
Without adequate levels of vitamin C, the body struggles to make and replenish collagen. We are one of the only mammals on the planet that doesn’t have the ability to produce our own vitamin C, the only way we can get it into our body is through diet or supplementation. Topping up with a daily dose of Altrient C helps keep your cells, particularly your fibroblasts (skin cells in the dermis) plentifully supplied with highly bioavailable vitamin C, which contributes to normal collagen formation for the normal function of skin, cartilage, gums, bone, teeth and blood vessels whilst also contributing to the normal function of the immune system, the protection of cells from oxidative stress and the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.
Fight Against UV Damage
When skin gets overexposed to UV rays, free radicals start to escalate increasing oxidative stress and potentially damaging healthy cells. One way to help support the skin and bring our body back into optimal balance is to neutralise free radicals with the help of vitamin C. UV radiation (sunburn) kills fibroblasts, the cells that make collagen. Vitamin C helps to support normal skin function and collagen synthesis by contributing to the action of fibroblasts. The most reliable way to reach the epidermis (the deeper part of the skin) is through oral supplementation as it is hard to get topical products to penetrate past the dermis (outer layers of the skin).
